WHAT PROGRAMS DO YOU OFFER AT TSA?

Club United – The competitive program is through a tryout process each year.  Teams are selected on an annual basis and they commit to play for two seasons (with the exception of high school boys and girls).  They travel throughout the state.  The league is progressive and teams can move up as their skill level and competitiveness grow.

District – The District program serves players who are interested in playing soccer locally (Greeley, Berthoud, Windsor and Fort Collins).  There are no tryouts for District Soccer.  The program is for year olds to 18 year olds.

 

WHAT IS REGISTRATION?

Registration is the process of identifying the players who wish to participate in Club United Soccer or a District Soccer team. It requires you to complete a Player Registration Form and to pay the appropriate fee for the season and if your new - to order a uniform.

HOW DO I REGISTER MY CHILD?

Registration is in person only.  A parent can only register their own child.

In order to register you must complete a Player Registration Form and pay the appropriate registration fee. All of the participants in our program are registered with the Colorado State Youth Soccer Association.  For registration dates see our calendar on our website. 

All parents register their players on a specific registration date provided on our website calendar. 

 

WHEN DOES REGISTRATION START?

Club: Tryouts are in May (see the website calendar) and registration is in June for fall.  High School girls register in spring and high school boys register in November.  Players who register with Club United are registering to play both fall and spring season except for high school players.  click here to view calendar

District: Registration for the Spring Season is held in January.  Registration for the Fall Season is held in June

HOW DO I GET ON THE TSA EMAIL LIST?

The emails are sent to every player who has registered on our website database. To receive an email update simply go to the website and register under “Player Information”

WHAT ABOUT PROOF OF BIRTH DATE?

For Club players only.  You need a proof of birth date if your player is new to the Thompson Soccer Association and wants to play on our Club United Competitive League. Proof of birth date is by a birth certificate or passport.  Copy of birth certificate must be given at the time of registration.  For players from out of the country please fill out the following form and bring it to the office:  International clearance form    This does not apply to District players.

A player whose birthday falls within the dates outlined in the chart may play up two years when approved by the Club.  A player may play up three or more years only when approved in writing by the CYS Director of coaching. (this does not apply to U10 players)  A player whose birthday falls within the dates outlined in the chart may not play down.

 

WHAT IS THE REGISTRATION FEE?

The Registration Fee for District is $85 per season and $30 for a uniform to be paid in full at time of registration.  Club United fees are $460 for the season (fall and spring).  This does not include uniforms.  The cost of uniforms is usually about $95.00.  There are family discounts available.  Just go to our website and click the Club tab for more information.  For high school players it is $230 for one season to be paid in full at registration.

 

WHAT TEAM WILL MY CHILD BE ON?

Club Club United teams are determined by a tryout process where all top players are put on the first team and remaining players a second or third team.  ALL PLAYERS MUST TRYOUT FOR A TEAM.

District Teams form as players register.  The first 13 players will be placed on a team.  The following players will be placed on a second team.  There will be a waiting list following the first full registrations for each team.

 

HOW MANY PLAYERS ARE ON A TEAM?

CLUB - this is up to the discretion of a coach. No team will be formed with less than 13 players.  Maximum of 18 with a minimum of 13

District – Teams must have a minimum of  13 players.

WHAT IS LATE REGISTRATION?

CLUB - All Player Registration Forms received after the registration deadline are considered LATE and subject to a $5.00 Late Fee. Late Registration players will be assigned to teams on a "first come, first served" basis as space becomes available. There are NO new teams formed after the registration deadline.

DISTRICT – Any players registering after the specified registration dates and times.

WHAT ABOUT SCHOLARSHIP DISCOUNTS?

Thompson Soccer Association has some discount scholarships available to families who have been approved through the school district for free/reduced lunch program.

WHAT ABOUT REFUNDS?

All requests for refunds must be submitted to the office on a Request for Refund form. 

CLUB - The ONLY reason we give refunds is for season ending injuries prior to the start of the first game with a doctor’s note.  See forms on the website. All requests must be presented to the Board for approval.

All refunds will be subject to a processing fee.

DISTRICT All refunds are subject to a reduction of Administrative Fees (20%) assigned by the State for insurance and office processing.  A full refund will be given, minus the Administration Fee, through the first week of practice.  A prorated refund will be given if:  players moves out of area or has a sport-ending injury with medical written documentation.

 

CAN I CHOOSE MY OWN COACH?

CLUB -No – they are offered a spot on one team after coaches have been assigned and tryouts have been held.

DISTRICT - every player will have the opportunity to name preference of coaching staff.  When possible, all player preferences will be taken into consideration, but not guaranteed.

Can I coach?

Yes, Thompson Soccer Association is glad to welcome those interested in coaching.  We encourage all coaches to become licensed through the state. TSA will refund all registration fees at completion of the course.  If you are interested in becoming a coach please fill out the attached forms and bring them into the officeCoaches Application

Background Checks

All of our Board, Office Staff and Coaching Staff must complete a background check through the state.
